There were already egg laying animals

before chicken, so overall egg came

first before chicken, but let's Question

which came first chicken or chicken egg.

Research suggests that the protein

essential for the formation of chicken

eggs called OV-17 is only found in

chicken ovaries. Without it chicken egs

shell can't be form. So without chicken

you can't have chicken eggs.

But as we said eggs were there way

before chickens, During reproduction,

two organisms shares DNA, but the

replication of this DNA is never 100%

accurate and often causes minor

changes for new organisms.

These small changes in DNA over

thousands of generation create new

species. It's similar how wolves

interacted with human and with time

change into dog. So we get two

scenarios.

Some early egg laying species gradually

lead formation of proto-chicken ( Prototype of Chicken) which laid proto-chicken eggs which went through mutations and this was ultimy the first chicken which then went on to lay chicken eggs. In this case chicken came first.

But this gives us a question. What is a

chicken egg? Is it called chicken egg

because they give birth to a chicken or

because they came from a chicken. But we

all can agree the first true chicken came

from an egg.

So Egg came first.
